CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – The 2013 Men’s College Cup has come down to the wire and five Grande Sports Academy graduates, out of the original nineteen who qualified for NCAA Tournament, are still alive as they have helped their teams advance to the Elite Eight, which will be played on Saturday, December 7th.
Riggs Lennon, Jordan Allen and Virginia have dominated the opposition as they knocked off St. John’s in the second round and eliminated Marquette and Coco Navarro in the third round. They face a tough Connecticut side, who knocked off #1 UCLA in the third round on PKs. Virginia will host Conneticut with kickoff set for 5:00 p.m. Arizona time.
New Mexico, Josh Goss and Lucas Seligman have yet to concede a goal through two matches. Shutting down George Mason in the second round and bouncing our Penn State in the third round. They will travel up to the Pacific Northwest to face Washington and Danny Gavin, who defeated Seattle and Stanford. The match has been picked up by the Pac-12 Network (cable) and will kickoff at 6:00 p.m. Arizona time.
