CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Following the conclusion of Real Salt Lake U-15/16’s 3-1 win over Seattle Sounders U-15/16 at the Grande Sports World on Saturday morning, the victorious players spoke to a handful of youth players from Ahwatukee Foothills Soccer Club about the impressive result they witnessed and what life is like at the Grande Sports Academy.
Justen Glad and Christian Herrera spoke about their experiences of playing internationally for the United States youth national teams, while Josh Doughty shared his thoughts on playing internationally with Canadian youth national teams.
Kris “Haiti” Fourcand and Fahot Yogol shared their life story and how they have arrived at the Grande Sports Academy from Haiti and Kenya, respectively.
After the players were done speaking, AFSC and RSL-AZ players came together for a group photo. RSL-AZ players then signed autographs and posed for photos.
“When I was a kid and I always wanted to be like the older guys who were taller and played soccer,” said Danny Acosta. “It was nice to have these youngsters here to support us and watch us play.”
