Jose “Coco” Navarro 2013 Soccer College Commitment
Jose “Coco” Navarro has taken another step in his future academic and soccer careers. Navarro announces his verbal college commitment to attend Marquette University Golden Eagles in the fall of 2013. Marquette University Golden Eagles play soccer in the NCAA’s Big East Conference.
Navarro is a Grande Sports Academy senior and plays forward for the soccer academy’s Real Salt Lake – Arizona 2012-13 U18 team. During the 2011-12 season, Navarro scored 18 goals to assist the RSL-AZ U16 team to a second place finish in the SoCal Division of the United States Soccer Development Academy’s West Conference. The opposition saw Navarro start 29 out of the 30 matches played by RSL-AZ. The USSDA awarded Navarro for his excellent forward play with by selecting him to the 2011-12 West Conference Team. This last summer, Navarro was selected to represent the RSL U17 team in the annual MLS Generation adidas Cup in Seattle.
Marquette University Golden Eagles men’s soccer team finished the 2011 season as the Big East Conference Blue Division season champions on a 9-7-2 overall and 7-2-0 Big East record. The 2012 season has started in a perfect manner as the soccer team is currently undefeated at 5-0. The perfect start has lifted the Golden Eagles to No. 13 in the national rankings. The teams highest ranking in school history.
The Grande Sports Academy staff and team congratulates Jose on his college commitment to attend Marquette University.
Grande Sports Academy is holding open soccer tryouts and residential soccer camps for the Real Salt Lake – Arizona soccer academy. The academy is providing plenty of opportunities to become a member of one of the leading soccer programs in the United States. This is BIG, this is GRANDE SPORTS.
